The program provides a child to staff ratio of 4 to 1 for younger toddlers and 8 to 1 for older toddlers (2 ½ and up).
Developmental Stages The toddler stage is a time of so much growth and development. It can often be difficult to keep in mind what to expect and when to expect it.

Growth takes place in four main areas. Sensory Motor Development is the change in the way toddlers use their muscles to move around and do things. The development of large muscle aides the toddlers in their ability to walk and bend. Development of small muscles improves the toddler’s skills with their hands. Language Development is the toddler’s growing ability to listen, understand, and use words to express themselves. Social-Personal Development includes the toddlers growing awareness of themselves, how they feel about children and adults, and how they play and talk to others. Cognitive Development is the toddlers growing ability to listen and understand others around them and follow short, easy directions. How a toddler thinks, reasons and problem solves are all factors used to assess their individual level of cognitive skills.
ABC Academy caregivers meet with the parents to set individual goals in each of these developmental areas for the toddlers in their care. Throughout the day the caregiver has planned activities for the toddlers to aide in their development and to work toward achieving these goals.
