June 13 – 17, 2011 - Summer Program Begins: ABC Academy Youth Groups are "Getting Fit" and "Going Green" this summer. The students will kick off the summer program by participating in Step by Step program sponsored by Allegiance Health.
June 19 – 24, 2011 – Spirit & Sports Week: A variety of sports will be enjoyed by the children this week. They will start off with a field trip to Ella Sharp Park to play Putt-putt golf, kickball and enjoy a picnic lunch at the park.
June 27 – July 1, 2011 – Kids in the Kitchen: A wide array of cooking activities will be offered to the children to test their culinary skills. With their new skills they may even offer to cook for you at home. The group will pick their own berries for one of the cooking project at they go berry picking at a farm and visit Dahlem Nature Center.
July 4 – 8, 2011 – Individual Fair Projects: Each summer the children enrolled in our youth camp program enter individual entries into the Jackson County Fair for judging. The children will select the medium they would like to enter and begin working on their fair project entries.
July 10 – 15, 2011 – Group Fair Display: The youths will also work together to create a group fair entry to display at the Jackson County Fair. In addition to begin their work on their display they will enjoy a field trip to the MSU Dairy touring the barns this week.
July 18 – 22, 2011 – Science Fair: Science experiments will be explored during our science fair week. The groups will also participate at the Learning Fair at JCC and enjoy a Field Day filled with events planned by Coach Maurer.
July 25 – 29, 2011 – Harvest our Garden: The children begin reaping the rewards of their gardening efforts at the center in addition to enjoying a field trip to the Farmers Market and Nixon Pool this week.
August 1 – 5, 2011 – Relay for Life Fundraisers: Each year the children at ABC Academy support the local American Cancer Society by organizing fundraisers to raise money for the Relay for Life event.
August 8 – 12, 2011 – Mentoring in the Preschool: We will continue learning the importance of giving back to the community as the groups mentor in our preschool groups. They will have the opportunity to read to the younger children and offer a helping hand.
August 15 – 19, 2011 – Talent Shows: The groups will have an opportunity to share their talents as they host a talent show. A field trip to Allskate will be enjoyed this week.
August 22 – 26, 2011 – Games Galore: In addition to variety of outdoor games the group will enjoy a Mystery Field Trip this week along with our Overnight Campout complete with night of fun games, movies and good food to enjoy.
August 29 – September 2, 2011 – Wrap-It-Up As we prepare to end our summer program the groups will complete their summer scrapbooks and videos to remember all of the fun they had with friends during the summer of 2011.
