June 7 – 11, 2004 - Garden Week: The children will start off the summer planting a garden to tend to during the summer. A special visit to a local area nursery will help the group learn more about caring for the plants in their garden.

June 14 – 18, 2004 – Sports Week: A variety of sports will be enjoyed by the children this week. They will start off with a track and field day at Jackson Community College competing with the school age groups from all three ABC Academy’s. In addition to a basketball camp, a field trip to a local park for swimming, the children will wrap up the week as they enjoy playing a ball game with their fathers at the center in honor of Father’s Day.

June 21 – 25, 2004 – Creative Crafts: A wide array of activities will be presented to the children to try their hand at. They will experiment with making ceramics, test their skills at cake decorating, and be creative with their photos as they scrapbook, learn how to make clay creations along with sewing.

June 28 – July 2, 2004 – Neighborhood Patriot: The children will have the opportunity to meet local heroes who serve our community and learn more about their jobs. We will be having a visit from a military recruiter, a State Police Trooper and an ambulance with its medical team. The children will enjoy a field trip to the local fire station to learn more about the daily life of a fire fighter.

July 5 – 9, 2004 – Beach Luau: Summer would not be complete without spending some time at the beach. The children will enjoy a week of beach activities from playing volleyball at Spring Arbor University to swimming at the pool in a local area park.

July 12 – 16, 2004 – Fear Factor Fun: The children will have the opportunity to compete in ABC’s version of Fear Factor. Watch out for creepy, slimy things as well as having your athletic skills challenged.

July 19 – 23, 2004 – Electronics Week: The children will experiment with a variety of electronic items. They will have the opportunity to disassemble electronic equipment to see what makes it work. They will enjoy RC car races and spend the afternoon at Spring Arbor University’s Learning Fair.

July 26 – 30, 2004 – Occupations Week: This will be a fun filled week as the children become carpenters building a stage for their talent show. We will head to Michigan International Speedway to watch the race car drivers compete at the time trials. Parents are also welcome to share their occupation with their child’s classroom during this week.

August 2 – 6, 2004 – Talent Week: This week the children will have the opportunity to share their unique talents with the other children in the center. After a week of practice they will perform their own outdoor concert at the center.

August 9 – 13, 2004 – Fair Week: Both group and individual fair projects made by the children will be entered into the Jackson County Fair. They will spend this week learning to become clowns in a clown class and preparing carnival games for the preschoolers to enjoy at the center carnival hosted by the school age children.

August 16 – 20, 2004 – Drama Week: This will be a very busy week as the children sew costumes, make props and learn lines for their part in a play which they will perform at the center at the end of the week.

August 23 – 27, 2004 – Sports Week: We will wrap up the summer with another fun filled week of sports. The children will enjoy another track and field day at Jackson Community College competing with the children from all three ABC Academy’s. They will have a special visit from the Flying Aces Pro Frisbee Team as they perform for the children at the center.
