A Typical Day in the Preschool Room offering the Head Start Program:
8:30-9:00 Family style breakfast provided by the Head Start Program is served to the children. Personnel hygiene follows after breakfast.
9:00-9:20 Children have circle time which may include storytelling, fingerplays, the calendar, weather, counting, letter and name recognition along with a review of the morning learning centers.
9:20–10:30 Children may choose activities from a variety of thematic learning centers planned for the day. Developmental centers may include math, science and language activities. Children help clean up prior to snack being served as a family style setting.
10:30–11:30 Children spend time enjoying creative activities in the classroom. Dramatic play, sensory activities, blocks and creative art materials are available for the children to explore. They enjoy time together outdoors taking a walk, playing games, playing on the outdoor equipment or doing a special activity.
11:30-12:00 Family style lunch provided by the Head Start Program is served to the children. Personnel hygiene follows after lunch.
Children who attend prior to 8:30 a.m. and after 12:00 a.m. will follow the same schedule as listed in preschool program. Parents will be billed based on our current fee schedule for the additional time attended beyond the Head Start program period.
